Upper Keys

Once classified as their own subspecies, the Upper Keys corn is both a locality morph as well as a selectively bred variation, especially when outcrossed to be combined with other mutations. They are characterized by a lighter coloration with less contrast between the ground and saddle colors, reduced or absent belly checkers, less pronounced saddle bands and a smaller size with often a “long and lean” body type.
